A Heart In Prison

Oh, that I could win her heart,
This woman whose love I so desire...
But she wishes to hold herself back,
Never wanting to live but to exist.

She believes comfort comes in the familiar
And excitement in the mundane.
She believes the lies told to her,
"You cannot succeed in your dreams, so why bother."

I so want to free her from this prison,
And help her see how much there is to life
And how she can experience
All the fullness of her dreams.
